Sympathy Card

So I was tasked with creating a Jewish sympathy card for a friend to give to a close friend in her time of loss. I didn't quite know how to go about it but then decided traditional would be best with a Star of David and a traditional hebrew saying for the inside of the card.

My friend let me know that this card was the only sympathy card that her friend was going to keep and cherish for years to come.

There is nothing more rewarding in card making than to hear that you made a difference in someone's life. . .

Here is the outside of the card I created:

Happy Birthday Mackenzie!!

I can't believe she's 14!!! Didn't she just have a birthday? My niece can't possibly be that old. She will always be a baby in my eyes.

So this year, Mackenzie is into Anime and anything Japanese. She says she is going to live there one day. That may be a little rough for me. I would have to commute to Japan every weekend to see her :0) I would just miss her too much.

Since one of Mac's goals it to start learning Japanese, Tyler and I gave her a computer program that will help her learn. This is the asian-themed card I came up with to accompany our gift:

Happy Birthday my sweet girl!!

Talk to you soon.

It's a Small Miracle

I should say it's two small miracles. The first one is that I am up this early and typing away. The second and most important small miracle is that my missing camera cord has actually resurfaced. YEAH!!!!!! What does that mean?? I can actually blog AND show you pictures. What a crazy combo, huh?

So, on Saturday I had the pleasure of teaching my first class at Stamp Works. I have been so excited to get started and it was a blast!! I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to attend. They were so encouraging and supportive. I really appreciate every last one of them.

I thought that since I haven't posted in forever, and I haven't posted pictures in more than forever, I would post all the projects we made in class on Saturday. So, here they are:

Talk to you soon.

Happy Birthday Stevie!

That's right, it's time to say happy birthday to our honorary Sassy Stamper-STEVIE!!

I whipped up this card for him last night. A bit late considering his birthday was Saturday. However, I have been mad at my scrap room. It's bringing me absolutely no inspiration lately. I hope that I am now over the hump and can get back to work.

Check out Stevie's birthday cake card. . .

Thanks for looking.

'Til Later,

Kelly
